CHILD DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL ANNOUNCES CEO RETIREMENT

Cortland and Tompkins Counties, New York — March 15, 2021 Taisha Dickerson, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Child Development Council of Central NY, Inc announces the retirement plans of CEO Sue Dale-Hall for the end of August 2021. Dale-Hall’s leadership role with the Council spans three decades. She reflects that “this past year has magnified the challenges in the education and family support for young children. We have had to create new approaches, find new resources and support the staff and community through unknown territory.”

As CEO, Dale-Hall provides leadership for the agency’s family support services as well as provider and parent child care referral and resources for Cortland and Tompkins Counties. In addition, Dale-Hall plays an active leadership role in the NYS Early Care and Learning Council network.

Looking to the future of the Council, Dale-Hall notes that the “next steps are to ensure that changes we make today become building blocks for a better stronger organization in the future. New leadership and energy will allow the agency to capitalize on the crossroads the Council faces.”

Dickerson reports that the Board of Director’s Transition Committee will announce plans shortly for the process of selecting the Council’s next CEO to continue leading our community in the vision to promote the healthy development of children and families at home, in child care, and in our community.
