CARES 3 Child Care Scholarships for Essential Workers

Twenty million dollars is allocated to support child care scholarships for children of essential workers (defined under Executive Order 202.6). Child care costs will be covered for families of essential workers whose income is less than 300 percent of the federal poverty level – or $78,600 for a family of four – and will be paid up to market rate for each region statewide. Scholarships for children of essential workers will run from October 25, 2020 through January 10, 2021 or until funds are depleted.

Parent Application This online application is the first step of the process. Once it is submitted, you will be contacted by the the Child Development Council within 10 business days to review your responses, and discuss any additional documents that you will need to submit to complete your application. This includes: a letter from your employer confirming your employment, gross income, and average hours per week worked as an essential worker who does not work at home.

Program Information Profile For Child Care programs to apply to accept CARES 3 Scholarship for children of essential workers. All licensed and regulated providers who are caring for essential workers are able to participate in this new program.
