Building Access to Child Care (BACC) is a child care supply project that addresses the multi-faceted challenges our community faces due to inequitable access to an insufficient supply of child care. BACC success requires community-wide effort. Building access to child care means:

  • Increasing child care supply with a focus on development and sustainability
  • Supporting our Early Childhood Business Alliance
  • Maintaining an online Child Care Business Toolkit
  • Promoting sponsorship of NYS Child Care Assistant Registered Apprenticeships
  • Community involvement:

    Architects: Assure property development and remodel plans meet home-based child care regulations. Go above and beyond by creating flexible housing that incorporates LEED standards and universal design concepts
    Developers: Create affordable housing that incorporates child care and universal design in ground floor units

Early Childhood Business Alliance (ECBA)

The Early Childhood Business Alliance (ECBA) is for child care providers who are interested in being part of a child care business network. ECBA members meet monthly to share information and build relationships with other child care providers in our area. ECBA members have access to:

  • child care management technology (Alliance CORE™)
  • business technical support
  • local shared services
  • additional program development and sustainability resources from the Council
