New Early Head Start Program in Tompkins County

In partnership with Tompkins Community Action, the Family Services Home Visiting Programs will expand to offer Early Head Start. The Early Head Start program is a federally funded community-based program for low-income families with infants and toddlers and pregnant women. Its mission includes:

• promoting healthy prenatal outcomes for pregnant women

• enhancing the development of infants and toddlers

• promoting healthy family functioning

The advances in the field of infant and toddler development shine a light on the importance of parenting education and support right from the start. We'll have more information in the next few months as we get ready to roll out this exciting addition to our home visiting programs.
