How many hours of training do I need?

Answer:

 

All regulated child care providers are mandated to 30 hours of training every 2 years covering these 9 topic areas.

  • Nutrition & Health Needs of Infants & Children
  • Child Day Care Program Development
  • Safety & Security Procedures
  • Business Record Maintenance & Management
  • Child Abuse & Maltreatment Identification & Prevention
  • Statues & Regulations Pertaining to Child Day Care
  • Statues & Regulations Pertaining to Child Abuse & Maltreatment
  • Identification & Prevention of Shaken Baby Syndrome

If you would like to be able to administer medications, you must take an 8-hour course called Medication Administration Training (MAT) taught by a health care professional. If you need assistance in finding a MAT trainer, please contact our office. In addition, you must have an individual on site at all times that is certified in Infant/Child CPR and First-Aid.
